Stuart began his greenkeeping career in 2010 as a Modern Apprentice with South Ayrshire Council, gaining his SVQ Level 2 in Greenkeeping and quickly developing a passion for course presentation and teamwork. Over the past 16 years, he has built an impressive career across Scotland and Europe, holding key positions at Ågesta Golf Club in Sweden, Rowallan Castle, Sand Golf Club, and now Trump Turnberry, where he currently serves as Deputy Course Manager.
Throughout his career, Stuart has combined hands-on expertise with a commitment to continuous learning. He holds an HNC in Golf Course Management from SRUC Elmwood College and is both an R&A Scholar and a 2024 Future Turf Managers Initiative graduate. His leadership focuses on data-driven decision-making, staff development, and delivering world-class playing surfaces.
A fun fact: Stuart once oversaw a full bunker renovation project in Switzerland — all while managing contractors in three different languages!
