Stephen Bernhard has been surrounded by horticulture from a young age. Determined to follow in the footsteps of his father, who held a leading position within the industry in the UK, Stephen expanded the export division of Jeffery and Sons Ltd in 1972. He did so by first addressing the technical issues surrounding the mowing of turf and the critical effect that reel grinding techniques had on mower performance an overall quality of cut.

Steven Nixon joined Bernhard and Company in 2001 bringing with him a strong background in mechanical engineering and agronomy. Steven has developed a wealth of international business management experience which he uses to guide the company forward.

Away from work, Steven enjoys spending his time keeping fit and watching as much sport as possible!

Angelique Crosnier joined the company in 2017, she is now responsible for internal sales and supports the global sales team and our distribution partners.

Away from work, Angelique likes to spend her time outdoors with her family and enjoys hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Stuart Hall joined Bernhard and Company with a strong background in greenkeeping and horticultural engineering, and has amassed a total of 34 years of experience in the industry. With a focus on aftercare service, Stuart supports both customers and business partners.

Away from work, Stuart enjoys walking his English Springer Spaniel and spending time with the family and friends he is also a motorsport fanatic.

Sue Challis joined the company in September 2000, with her main roles focussing on Credit Control and Sales Ledger maintenance. Sue’s role has developed over her time at Bernhard and Company, and in 2017 she attained an AAT Level 3 qualification.

Away from work, Sue enjoys spending time with her daughters and granddaughters, as well as tending to her allotment plot which she is very fond of.

Michelle Hodges joined Bernhard and Company in 2015, having worked in Customer Service since 1997, initially with Santander, before a period with FigLeaves.com. Her primary role has been to Administrate Customer Care throughout the business, although more recently, she has pivoted to work as Freight and Parts Manager – a role she has excelled in.

Away from work and as a proud dog owner, Michelle likes to spend time taking long walks with her dog.

Danny McConnel joined the company in January 2022 he has been in the turf industry for over 20 years.

Away from work, Danny enjoys spending time with friends and family, woodworking, traveling, spending time outdoors, and barbecuing.

Business Development Manager for North America, Gary Ray, joined the company in 2004. Gary began his career in outdoor power equipment and turf back in 1976 and has since accumulated over 44 years experience in the industry. Over the last 30 years, Gary has been heavily involved in golf turf and enjoys playing the game during his spare time.

Away from work, Gary enjoys playing golf with his friends.

He has been in the industry for more than 20 years and joined the company in February 2023. Tommy began his career as an assistant mechanic, then, he became an equipment manager for important venues like Cherokee Town & Country Club, White Marsh Valley Country Club, and Pine Valley Golf Club in the United States.

Away from work, Tommy enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking with his family and friends.

Daryl is the Technical Sales Manager for Western North America since October 2023. With 29 years in the turf industry, Daryl has proven expertise in managing and maintaining golf and turf equipment. Prior to joining our team, he served as the Branch Manager at Oakcreek Golf & Turf, enriching his understanding of the industry’s nuances.

Away from work. Daryl finds joy in spending quality time with family and friends. His passion extends to sports, particularly golf, hockey, and football.

Scott Purdy joined the team at Bernhard and Company in 2013, and now boasts over 30 years of experience in the sports turf industry. Before joining the company, he worked for 22 years as a greenkeeper, working his way up from apprentice to Course Manager. He has also graduated from NVQ to degree level at Reaseheath, Myerscough Colleges.

Away from work, Scott is very active and enjoys both running and cycling, having participated in the Birmingham 100 and London Marathon.

Dean has over 18 years in the industry. His journey started back in 2006 at Reesink Turfcare UK,  in land-based service engineering. From there, he became a Toro demonstrator, traveling across the UK and Ireland for 7 years. He then, joined Oliver Landpower LTD as a sales representative, specialising in turf care equipment for nearly 5 years.

Outside of work, Dean enjoys sharing time with family and friends. As well as spending some weekends doing stock car racing.

Paul Wilcox, European Territory Manager, has been with the company for over 19 years. He is exceptionally well travelled, having worked first in the USA, then moving to Asia, and later Australia, before gaining the role of heading up European sales. Prior to joining Bernhard and Company, Paul gained a qualification in Turf Management at Warwickshire College of Agriculture before working as a greenkeeper in England, Nigeria, Spain and Germany. When at home, Paul enjoys long walks along the seafront near his home on the Costa del Sol. His other passions are for travelling, he also enjoys cooking new recipes.

Peter joined Bernhard & Co in August 2022. He has a very strong background in agronomy, golf design and business development all over the world in many different countries.  He had a strong career start working for the St. Andrews Links Trust preparing the Old Course for two Open Championships. He then went to work in Australia, America, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand in agronomy, golf design, and business development.

Peter has over twenty year’s experience in the golf industry and has been involved in over 25 televised tournaments including eight “majors”.

He is also a very keen golfer and enjoys running, snowboarding, and skiing in his spare time.

Mirai Takahashi joined Bernhard and Company in 2005, and has been heavily involved in tournament support activities. Mirai is well known within his region for his expertise and previously worked as a technician for Yanmar Green Service, managing the Bernhard and Company product portfolio within the business.

Steve Wilson joined the company in 2008 and boasts a career that spans over 25 years. Initially employed in his family business – a public golf course in Edmonton, Canada – Steve completed the Turfgrass Management & Turf Equipment Technician Programme and taught in the college he studied in for two years. He then moved to Japan where he took on the roles of Agronomic and Equipment Manager, and National Fleet Manager for Bernhard and Company.

Away from work, Steve enjoys playing golf and ice hockey. His most favourite activity is scuba diving and exploring deep ship wrecks.
