Through continued support, educational programmes, research and development our mission is to enhance our understanding on the relationship between sustainability, conservation, and a professionally managed maintenance department. We achieve this fine balance by continuing to partner with professional greenkeeping/superintendent associations, and other professional organisations. One example of this is the BIGGA Delegation sponsored by Bernhard. This unique professional development opportunity is known throughout the industry and has been running for more than 20 years.
It is our long-standing belief that giving back to the industry we love, is one of our most important responsibilities. We will continue to promote and explore the relationship between cutting practices and grass health, while also investigating the financial, environmental, and performance implications.

January 1, 1931In 1931, we introduced our first ever CR spin grinder, which would set the tone for future creations.

January 1, 1963Dating back to the origins of the first video recorder, our very first Anglemaster grinding machine was introduced in 1963.

January 1, 1966In 1966, the same year as England claimed their first football World Cup victory, our first Dual spin grinder machine was introduced to the market. Based on John Atterton’s original design principles, ‘The Dual’ was a quick, easy, and efficient sharpening machine.

First Express Dual
January 1, 1971In early 1971, we introduced the first in our line of Express Dual grinding machines, together with a new clamping device which made mower set up faster than ever previously. The Express Dual remains a key product line to this day, with six unique models currently in production.

January 1, 1999In 1999, Bernhard and Company officially completed the purchase and merger of Atterton and Ellis. With extensive knowledge of turf and its horticultural benefits, Stephen Bernhard completed the takeover with the hope to carry forward the legacy of these special grinding machines.

Touchscreen controls, RFID technology, WIFI enabled and wireless handsets are exclusive features of these machines.
