Our first patent
In 1889, the same year as the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, our first patent was signed by Queen Victoria to protect the innovation and designs of our original grinding machinery.
As leaders in sports turf technologies, we are committed to supplying the world’s best grinding machines and turf care solutions to golf courses and sports facilities around the globe. Our product portfolio allows customers to deliver the best possible cut with simplicity, efficiency, and accuracy.
We are proud to be associated with the most prestigious golf clubs and courses around the world. In addition, our teams support the DP World Tour, PGA Tour, and the United States Golf Association by providing specialist tournament support for high profile competitions, such as the Masters, US Open, and Ryder Cup.
Through continued support, educational programmes, research and development our mission is to enhance our understanding on the relationship between sustainability, conservation, and a professionally managed maintenance department. We achieve this fine balance by continuing to partner with professional greenkeeping/superintendent associations, and other professional organisations. One example of this is the BIGGA Delegation sponsored by Bernhard. This unique professional development opportunity is known throughout the industry and has been running for more than 20 years.
It is our long-standing belief that giving back to the industry we love, is one of our most important responsibilities. We will continue to promote and explore the relationship between cutting practices and grass health, while also investigating the financial, environmental, and performance implications.
Bernhard and Company have developed relationships that, to this day, are the foundations of our work, and represent our ethos of ‘excellent product’, unrivalled service, and the key focus on money saving maintenance’. It is this that has kept us at the top of this ever-growing market for so long.
With considerable experience in the turf care industry, our expertise extends across multiple disciplines. Knowledge in engineering, agronomy, and product design all combine with an unrivalled understanding of the development and maintenance of playing surfaces.
Remaining at the forefront of the industry, we continue to work with globally recognised turf institutes and organisations to develop new concepts and educational opportunities.
