John Robert Stewart is the Courses Manager at Minchinhampton Golf Club, overseeing three courses with a growing team of twenty staff. With a career spanning nearly three decades, John began as an apprentice at Auchterarder Golf Club and has since held roles at Gleneagles’ PGA Centenary Course, Cotswold Hills Golf Club, and Minchinhampton, gaining extensive experience in championship course preparation, tournament support, course construction, and sustainable maintenance practices.
John is passionate about modernising golf course facilities and enhancing playability while maintaining environmental and operational sustainability. He has led major projects including bunker refurbishments, green surround reshaping, irrigation upgrades, and fleet modernisation, and is currently project managing a new green facility aimed for completion in 2027.
Fun Fact: Away from the course, John enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, rugby, music, cookery, and flying drones.
