Andrew Gibbs is the Assistant Head Greenkeeper at the Old Course, Sunningdale Golf Club, where he plays a key role in maintaining one of the world’s top 100 courses. With a career spanning nearly two decades, Andrew began as an Apprentice Greenkeeper at High Post Golf Club and progressed through senior roles before joining Sunningdale in 2012. He has extensive experience in staff training, machinery operation, agronomy, and course management, contributing to the day-to-day running of a championship-standard course.
Andrew has supported a wide range of prestigious tournaments, including The Open Championship, Curtis Cup, BMW PGA Championship, and the Senior Open Championship. He is highly regarded for his organisation, leadership, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of turf care.
Fun Fact: Outside of work, Andrew is married to a professional golfer and enjoys getting beaten on the golf course—a pastime that keeps him humble and constantly learning from his partner.
